In the world of classic cars, none are proving more valuable than Ferrari 250 badged models. As a matter of fact, one 250 GTO sold for $53 million in 2013.

While not quite as expensive, the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione model is still highly collectable and will continue to rise in value in the coming years. It’s of little surprise then that one owner recently had his 250 GT restored meticulously by Ferrari Classiche over the past 14 months.

Originally, this Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione was owned by former GT and Formula One driver Dorino Serafini. During Serafini’s ownership, the car was raced on occasion and in the coming years and decades, was owned by a number of other enthusiasts and at one stage, was badly damaged in a crash.

Throughout its life, the car has been painted in an array of colours from dark blue to grey and bright yellow. As part of its restoration from the Ferrari Classiche department, it was repainted in a shade of grey similar to other Ferraris from the 1960s.

Beyond the fresh paint job, the interior has been reappointed in brown leather while extensive work has also been done on the engine, body and suspension.

In 2013, a similar 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione was sold by RM Auctions for over $8 million so if the owner of this example ever decides to part ways with it, he’ll make a fortune.
