Prior to the launch of the McLaren F1, the Jaguar XJ220 held the accolade as the world’s fastest production car with a 217 mph (349 km/h) top speed.

What’s more, the mid-engined British supercar held the production car lap record around the Nurburgring for eight impressive years. Despite those achievements and being limited to just 275 units worldwide, XJ220s have failed to rise in value like the F1.

Consequently, XJ220s rarely come up for sale with most owners wanting to hold onto their prized pieces of automotive history. That makes the following example on sale in the UK all the more noteworthy.

This particular XJ220 is one of just 69 examples ever produced in right-hand drive. In March 2014, it underwent a significant 24-month service which saw the fuel tank, fuel pumps, ignition system and fuel hose kit all replaced. Additionally, the brakes, steering and suspension systems were all serviced.

While it left the Jaguar factory some 22 years ago, it has only traveled a mere 6,027 miles (9,700 km) and throughout its life, has had three different owners. Another key selling point is the fact that it has the sought-after upgraded brakes installed by XJ220 specialist Down Law. When combined with the well-maintained interior and exterior, this is certainly an eye-raising proposition for any Jaguar and/or supercar collectors out there.

It is being offered for sale from Tom Hartley Jnr with a €325,000 price tag.
