In a matter of five years from 2010, the workforce of Tesla has risen incredibly from around 800 employees to over 14,000. Based off the number of current job openings at Tesla, it seems like its rapid expansion is only strengthening.

At the time of writing, the Tesla website has 1,646 jobs on offer around the world. Those jobs range from engineering jobs in Palo Alto, California to work on Tesla’s Autopilot autonomous driving system, right through to a vehicle detailer in Norway, service manager in Beijing and a parts advisor in Luxembourg.

While Tesla has an exceptionally high number of job openings, actually landing a job at the rapidly-expanding company isn’t easy. As a matter of fact, Tesla’s vice president of human resources recently told Bloomberg that in the past 14 months, over 1.5 million people around the world have applied for jobs at Tesla. This comes despite the fact that Tesla has recently reported increasing losses, due largely to its research and development expansions.

As it stands, Tesla is still expanding around the world and currently in the midst of construction the world’s largest lithium-ion battery factory which it appropriately dubs the ‘Gigafactory’. Tesla believes that by the end of this year, it would have delivered over 50,000 vehicles and that by the first quarter of 2016, cash flow will become positive.
