The recently unveiled Toyota 86 GRMN and the upcoming facelifted version of the GT 86 (sold as the Scion FR-S in North America) were captured on video.

The footage, which was shot on the "Green Hell", starts with the newest limited edition in Toyota's family, the JDM-exclusive 86 GRMN, which was developed on the Nurburgring, as the automaker states, and it has a lot of aerodynamic upgrades, a tweaked suspension, 17-inch wheels and more.

Approximately 100lbs (45kg) were shaved from its total weight, after it underwent a diet, and the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-pot engine now develops 16PS (16hp) and 12Nm (9lb-ft) of torque more than the standard car, at 216PS (213hp) and 217Nm (160lb-ft).

Speaking of the "standard" model, Toyota plans to slightly upgrade it, for the 2017 model year, as a prototype of the budget sports car was caught on camera too, in the second part of the short film.

The model had its front and rear fascias wrapped in camouflage and, besides the visual upgrades, the rear-wheel drive coupe is also said to get a tweaked chassis and a small bump in power, but until a new generation will hit the market, don't expect a different engine other than the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which should maintain its naturally aspirated form.
