You can now order the “new” Fiat 500 1,3-liter MultiJet II 95PS turbodiesel in Britain.

Along with the Panda, the 500 is billed, as “the only city cars available in the UK powered by a turbodiesel engine – ideally suited to long journeys between congested destinations“.

As its name states, this version of the updated Fiat 500 is powered by a 1.3-liter turbodiesel engine that delivers 95PS (94hp) at 3,750rpm and 200Nm (148lb-ft) of torque at 1,500rpm, with 170Nm (125lb-ft) available from as low as 1,250rpm.

The car is said to be responsive in all gears, reaching 62mph (100km/h) from a standstill takes 10.7 seconds, and top speed is 112mph (180km/h).

The engine is equipped with advanced efficiency technologies that include a smart alternator, rapid engine warm-up, variable oil pump displacement and the all-present Start & Stop system. These add up to provide a combined fuel economy of 83.1mpg UK (69.1mpg US / 3.4l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 89g/km.

The Fiat500 1.3-liter MultiJet II 95PS is available in the Pop Star and Lounge trim levels and it starts from £14,166 ($20,459) OTR for the hardtop, while the cheapest 500C is comes from £16,815 ($24,284). The entry-level version of the city car is the 1.2-liter Pop with the 85PS (84hp) TwinAir Turbo engine and it starts from £10,890 ($15,727), in the UK.
