Hyundai’s answer to the Toyota Prius will be launched on its local market later this month.

This isn’t the first time when the alternative-fuel compact car, named IONIQ, ends up in the news as several prototypes were captured on camera in 2015, and close to the year’s end Hyundai has dropped a few teaser images.

The latest/a> reveal the model’s front fascia, with the large hexagonal grille, slender headlights with incorporated LED DRLs and the front apron with what seem to be blue accents, found on other parts of the bodywork as well.

The sloping roofline contributes to a sporty character and the automaker offers a preview of the cabin too, where the highlights are the large central display for the infotainment system, a dual-climate control system, sporty seats and an automatic transmission.

Hyundai will introduce the production version of the IONIQ in South Korea by the end of January. It is already taking pre-orders for it in its home market, while on the Old Continent, we’ll get a glimpse of it at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
