“Lighter, faster and more powerful” is what Jaguar has to say about its new F-Type SVR, which was just confirmed for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The high-performance machine will be visually different compared to its sisters and will get a range of aerodynamic tweaks, such as the new bonnet with air extractors, a more pronounced front splitter and the large fixed wing found at the rear.
Mods won’t stop here as Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVR) division has added an adaptive sports suspension system too, an electronic differential and optional carbon ceramic brake placed behind unique 20-inch wheels. The interior will be updated with different trimmings.
The manufacturer didn’t have much to say on the F-Type SVR’s performance, except that it will be capable of reaching 320km/h (200mph), with previous leaked data revealing that a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine will send 575PS (567hp) and 575Nm (424lb-ft) to the all-wheel drive system, through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
While the F-Type R needs 4.2sec for 0-100km/h (62mph) in the RWD and 4.1sec with AWD, the 25PS (25hp) and 25Nm (18lb-ft) of torque more offered on the F-Type SVR will allow it to do the same in just 3.7 seconds.
