Equipped with a phone camera, one of the first owners of a BMW M2 Coupe took the high performance model for a high-speed run on the Autobahn – not the safest / wisest combo…

In any case, the M2 owner recorded the run and shared the video through BimmerPost.

Behind that impressive acceleration lies a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged straight six-pot mill that sends 365hp (370PS) and 343lb-ft (465Nm) of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, offered as standard. In this case, hitting 100km/h (62mph) takes 4.5 seconds, while with the optional seven-speed dual-clutch DCT, the time lowers to 4.3 seconds.

In the States, BMW has priced its newest M model  from $51,700, without a destination and handling fee of $995, with buyers having a limited selection of colors, including Alpine White, Mineral Grey, Long Beach Blue and Black Sapphire. Inside, customers don’t have many options either, as all versions of the M2 have black leather and blue contrast stitching.

In its local market, Germany, those interested in the 1M Coupe’s spiritual successor have to pay €56,700 for the stock car.
