Nissan is getting ready to introduce an updated version of the Armada, for the 2017MY.

While the Japanese automaker has done a good job in hiding the new full-sized SUV from curious eyes, a purportedly leaked image, sent to a member of the TitanXDForum, by a friend “from an ad agency“, offers a first preview into the model.

Easily noticeable from far away, the new Nissan Armada will be based on the Infiniti QX80. Previous reports, like the one published by AutoNews in mid-2015, state that the architecture won’t be the only thing shared between the two vehicles, as most of the interior trim will mirror the QX80 too.

Power is expected to come from the same 5.6-liter V8 engine found on its cousin, rated at 400hp (406PS) and 413lb-ft (560Nm) of torque, mated to a 7-speed auto and an AWD system. The Armada will probably have a maximum towing capacity of 8,500lbs (3,855kg) and it should return 14/20mpg (16.8-11.8L/100km) in city/highway.

The manufacturer has been keeping details on the upcoming full-sized SUV a secret, but AutoGuide reports that the vehicle will be unveiled later this year and it will go on sale by the end of 2016.
