Kia’s Optima Just Got A Sexy Looking Station Wagon Model

These are the first official pics of Kia’s production Optima Station Wagon (name not confirmed yet), prior to the car’s world premiere presentation at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1.

Its styling was closely previewed by Kia’s Sportspace Concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. From these images, courtesy of our friends at Autowp, the production car maintains the same footprint and silhouette, but loses the study’s aggressive stance afforded by the lowered suspension and bigger wheels, along with some other details like the more conventional bumper and tail lamp designs.

Overall, in our eyes, it still looks pretty attractive in its production outfit.

As for the interior, it swapped the concept’s futuristic and minimalist design for the regular Optima sedan’s more down to earth inner workings, with added headspace for the rear passengers and increased practicality and room in the luggage compartment.

We don’t have the specifications list in our hands yet, but power for estate will come from the same line of engines found in the sedan, which in Europe, include a 141PS (139hp) 1.7-liter diesel and a 163PS (161hp) 2.0-liter petrol, with a 245PS (242hp) 2.0-liter turbo to join the range later this year.

Kia officials haven’t said if they’re examining to offer the Optima Wagon in North America.
