The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS may have been designed as the most track-oriented road-legal 911 ever but that doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyed in slower yet infinitely more enjoyable ways.

While the car’s tires have been borrowed straight from the Porsche 918 Spyder and are about as sticky as road rubber goes, with a little bit of encouragement, the tail of the new GT3 RS can be kicked out just like the very best driver’s vehicles.

During a private Porsche event at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit recently, one company instructor hit the circuit at midnight to fully exploit the car’s hardcore 500 hp, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine.

With the boxer unit roaring at its redline through the corners while the instructor enjoys Ken Block levels of slip angle, it’s obvious that while the GT3 RS may chase lap times, it is still a driver’s car at its very core.
