The refreshed SL roadster is now available to order from all Mercedes-Benz UK dealers, starting from £73,805 for the 400 AMG Line model.

Customers can pick from four different petrol engine configurations, starting with the entry-level SL 400 and its 4.0-liter V6 engine, which is good for 367 PS, getting your convertible Mercedes-Benz from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds.

The faster SL 500, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-liter V8 engine, packing 455 PS, allowing for a 100 km/h sprint time of 4.3 seconds. Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG models come with either 585 PS (SL 63) or 630 PS (SL 65), the latter needing only 4 seconds flat in order to achieve the previously mentioned velocity.

Aside from the well-known aesthetic modifications, the “new” SL now comes as standard with Mercedes’ 9G-Tronic Pus gearbox, on both 400 and 500 versions, replacing the older 7G-Tronic transmission. The AMG versions feature the Speedshift MCT 7-speed automatic (SL 63) and Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic (SL 65).

Equipment-wise, SL 400 & 500 AMG Line models come with Apple CarPlay, LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, Parking Pilot, COMAND Online, Dynamic Select, 18″ alloys, Magic Vision Control, Attention Assist, Active Brake Assist and Active Bonnet. Of course, the flagship models boast extra goodies such as AMG high performance composite braking system, AMG Dynamic Select, AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather, AMG Sports Exhaust System, AMG sports suspension and either V8 Biturbo or V12 Biturbo inscriptions on the front wings.

The entire range is available with the Night Package as an option (SL 400 – £895; SL 500 – £495; SL 63 – £2,475; SL 65 – £795), which consists of 19″ AMG alloys (20″ on the SL 63 & 65), and gloss black diffuser trim, front splitter and exterior mirror housings.

Moving on up from the SL 400 and its £73,805 price tag, you’ll find the £82,155 SL 500 model, though if you want to stay with the entry-level model, you can make a play for the SL 400 ‘Edition’ version, which is new to the SL line-up in the UK and is priced at £74,995. Limited to just 130 units, this model includes Airscarf, Keyless-Go Comfort Pack, reversing camera, Driving Assistance Pack, electric draught stop, ambient lighting and velour floor mats as standard.

As for the AMG SL 63 and 65 models, their prices start from £113,175 and £172,140 respectively.
