Mercedes says the 14-meter long 947 HP “Silver Arrow of the Seas” combines the performance of the German company’s sports cars with unique innovations from the boat industry.

Mercedes Benz Style has been a known, tangible part of the brand, developing exclusive products that reach beyond the car industry, but have carried the high quality standards and design philosophy into other areas. Like boats, for instance.

The watercraft was conceived with the help of Silver Arrows Marine, combining the advantages of an open boat with the generous interior and privacy of a cabin cruiser, in order develop a totally new boat concept with a fitting name: ‘Arrow460–Granturismo’.

“In developing the new motor yacht, we have transferred our expertise to the marine industry, creating something never seen before in the process. The ‘Silver Arrow of the Seas’ stands for modern luxury, avant-garde style and comfortable elegance. The yacht embodies the Mercedes-Benz’s progressive, dynamic design philosophy of sensual purity on the water. Or, to put it another way, it is hot and cool in one, and stands for emotion and intelligence,” said Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG.

Measuring 14-meters in length, luxurious motor yacht can accommodate up to 10 persons, and thanks to its retractable widows and adjustable windscreen, the passenger can experience an all-round view while sitting – comfortably – inside the cabin.

Moreover, the tables and beds are extendable, and the Arrow460–Granturismo comes with air conditioning, a high-quality audio system, an ice-making machine and even a “wine-cellar”. But what makes the yacht truly unique is its electronically controlled luminous transmittance, just like Mercedes’ Magic Sky Control.

“Almost everything about Arrow460-Granturismo is unique, from its concept to the smallest bespoke detail. It is a motor yacht with a personality that truly embraces life, combining the best marine engineering with the inspired innovations and elegance that the world associates with the Mercedes-Benz name. By merging marine and automotive worlds, with their respective design language, technologies and ideas, we have created a new standard of motor yacht, unlike all others.” Silver Arrows Marine Chairman Ron Gibbs said.

The yacht is powered by 2 Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesel engines, each rated at 473 HP, and can sail (in calm seas) with a speed of 28 to 30 knots. That’s 52 – 55 Km/h, although its top speed is 40 + knots with a light load (74 Km/h).
