Skoda’s flagship is probably one of those rare cars that you can’t really find any significant faults.

Based on the same underpinnings with the VW Passat, the big Skoda offers a vast cabin with top quality materials and all the tech you could ask for in this segment. Add to that the sharper design of the exterior and the immense value for money on offer, and you suddenly have no good reason why you shouldn’t buy one.

And while most people would go for a cheaper-to-run diesel version, Skoda offers an AWD version powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-litre TSI engine found in the Leon Cupra with 280hp on tap.

The end result is just impressive, as the range-topping Superb is not only …superb at almost every area, but mighty fast as well.

Carbuyer tries to find and point at the bad bits of the big Skoda, but frankly it’s a lost cause.
