In a world where original GT40s change hands for over a million bucks, Superformance’s licenced recreation model seems like the deal of the century.

This Ford GT40 MKII is almost identical to the original car and you even get an entry into the official GT40 registry. It uses a steel monocoque with the clamshell and doors made out of fiberglass, just like the original model.

Power comes for a Roush 427 Small Block V8 producing 550hp mated to a ZF five-speed manual with a dogleg first. It all sounds very special indeed, especially if you count things like the air-conditioning and the modern Wilwood brakes.

Priced close to $170,000, this GT40 can be safely be considered as a bargain, giving owners the opportunity not only getting the legendary Le Mans-winning Ford but also drive it properly and not hide it in some garage.

The modern incarnation might be sold out already, but we bet you it can’t match this in terms of the overall experience. Matt Farah drives this gorgeous creation in this special One Take video.
