We finally got our hands on the pricing and ordering guide for Lincoln’s new 2017 Continental that will be going on sale later this year.

The American brand’s big luxury sedan will offer a choice of three engines, including a 300hp 3.7-liter naturally-aspirated V6 in both front- and all-wheel drive configurations, a 335hp 2.7-liter turbocharged Ecoboost V6 in FWD and AWD, and a range-topping 400hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 that will be offered exclusively with a more advanced AWD system featuring Dynamic Torque Vectoring.

There are also four available trims named ‘Premiere’ (only for the 3.7L V6), ‘Select’ (for the 3.7L V6 and 2.7L V6), ‘Reserve’ (for the 2.7L V6 and 3.0L V6) and ‘Black Label’ (for the two Ecoboost engines), while Lincoln offers five optional packages, ranging from the $695 Climate Package for Select, Reserve and Black Label trims, to the $5,000 Luxury Package for the Reserve.

Prices, including destination and handling, start from $45,485 for the base, FWD 3.7L Premiere, which places the Continental squarely against Cadillac’s 268hp 2.0L 4-cylinder CTS ($45,560) and 304hp 3.6L V6 XTS ($45,295), as well as Lexus’ 241hp 2.0L four-pot GS 200t ($45,615).

Opting for the 335hp 2.7L EcoBoost, priced from $50,690 and upwards, brings up a bigger variety of rivals, including BMW’s 240hp 2.0L 528i ($50,200) and Jaguar’s 340hp V6 XF ($51,900) as well as Cadillac’s new $53,495 272hp CT6 2.0T.

The 400hp 3.0L EcoBoost V6, which is priced at $60,105 in Reserve trim and $69,105 in Black Label guise, will have a much more difficult task, especially the latter, as it will not only compete (MSRP-wise, at least) with cars like the 400hp Cadillac CT6 AWD (from $64,395), but also other offerings like the 333hp Audi A7 Sportback (from $68,300), the 445hp BMW 550i xDrive ($69,595) while coming uncomfortably close to the 340hp Jaguar XJ R-Sport ($74,400).
