With a new biturbo engine in place of the old naturally aspirated flat-six, Porsche’s updated 911 Carrera 4S moves more like a supercar than sports car.

The 3.0-liter Biturbo flat-six in the 911 C4S is good for 420 PS (414hp) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque, helping it get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 sec with a manual, 4.0 seconds with the PDK and 3.8 sec with the PDK and optional Sport Chrono pack, and keep going until 303 km/h (188 mph) or 305km/h (190mph), depending on configuration. Of course those numbers are all on paper, which is why we’re here to see what the C4S is capable of in a real world scenario.

The video starts off with a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) test that the car is said to have completed in just 3.4 seconds, which is quicker than what Porsche would have you believe it would do. Should we take it with a pinch of salt? Of course you should, because of external factors and the way it was recorded. But it wouldn’t be the first time Porsche have “gone conservative” with their factory specs.

We’ll let you see the rest of the results for yourselves, but as far as we’re concerned, the C4S behaved itself admirably during all of these different runs. Watching that engine rev to 7,400 rpm while doing 283 km/h (175 mph) can be a real treat.

According to the reviewer, the new 911 Carrera 4S PDK is about 3 seconds faster than the old model to 200 km/h (124 mph) and a whooping 6 seconds faster to 250 km/h (155 mph), which is what we call progress.
