A mid-cycle facelift for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is in the works and it’s set hit dealerships within the next year.

This latest spy video reveals yet another prototype of the 3-pointed star’s flagship saloon, virtually undisguised, showing off some minor exterior tweaks, mainly to the LED headlamps and tail-lamps, and the bumper designs, which should be joined be fresh colors and alloy wheel choices.

While the styling changes performed on its exterior are minimal enough to allow the 2017 S-Class to fly under the radar, its cabin will receive more advanced technologies, including the larger set of displays, an updated touchpad controller, which will replace the rotary one, and a new infotainment system. Also on menu is a new Drive Pilot semi-autonomous system and a different steering wheel.

The sixth-generation model, introduced three years ago, is offered with a wide selection of petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, but it’s not clear yet whether the facelifted version will benefit from any changes in the engine compartment. An exact reveal date has yet to be announced, but the refreshed S-Class could show its new face in October, at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
