It seems like the departure of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May from the motoring show Top Gear didn’t leave the BBC without ideas.

The move forced the British public service broadcaster to reinvent the famous program, starting with the crew format and ending with the challenges. One thing remains in true Top Gear fashion, though, and that’s the outrage it sometimes makes – as it seems like the show can’t get without a scandal surrounding it.

Anyway, Series 23 is less than two weeks away from premiering, and we’re already expecting a lot of action from Chris Evans, Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc, Sabine Schmitz, Rory Reid, and Eddie Jordan, especially as TopGear.com shared some insights about the upcoming episode and it appears that Evans and Schmitz will go to Nevada to pit to pit the Dodge Viper ACR against a Chevy Corvette Z06, while Matt LeBlanc will test the Ariel Nomad.

However, another interesting thing was spotted by three-time BTCC champion Matt Neal, who was at the revised BBC Top Gear test track. Yes, revised, as it appears from one of his tweets that the show’s “Star in a reasonably priced car” segment will have a rally-cross bit and a jump – that if it will still be called that way.

An interesting concept, to say the least, that will probably break the cars even faster than the old format did. But we’ll have to wait for the actual show to confirm this, as Matt Neal could’ve been up to something else on the circuit slash airfield.

Hat tip to Jalopnik!
