Acura will put two units of the new NSX through their paces at the upcoming Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, marking the new-gen supercar’s North American racing debut.

The two vehicles will compete in the Time Attack 1 and 2 classes in the 100th anniversary of the legendary run, on June 26, with brothers James and Nick Robinson behind the wheel, both of them from Acura’s engineering team.

Pikes Peak is like no other race in the world and offers a unique opportunity to showcase the power and performance of our products. We are excited for this year’s ‘Race to the Clouds‘ to test the endurance and engineering of the Acura NSX and our advanced powertrain technologies – as well as an expression of our racing spirit“, said Acura’s VP and General Manager, Jon Ikeda.

Making sure that the two supercars are ready for the event is a team of engineers, from the company’s research and development department, who have lightened the chassis and added a custom high-flow racing exhaust for one of them, while the other one has remained pretty much stock, except for the required extra safety equipment.

Another NSX, an MDX SUV and a TLX sedan have been transformed into pace cars and will be showcased at the event and at a number of pre-race activities, including the Fan Fesst in Colorado Springs, on June 24.
