Totaling 198,354 new vehicle deliveries around the world last month, the BMW Group is riding the wave.

Sales of BMW-badged models rose by 5.6 percent, to 168,129, and the manufacturer points out that the most significant increase came from the new X1, up 47.8 percent, followed by the 2-Series, with 47.6 percent, 7-Series flagship, 32.4 percent and X4, 13.0 percent.

Our sales continue to show sustainable growth, well in line with our expectations. Our target is to ensure profitable growth in sales and thanks to our attractive model line-up, that’s what we are achieving“, commented the automaker’s chief, Ian Robertson.

With 29,864 vehicles delivered worldwide last month, the MINI brand has witnessed a 3.6 percent increase, helped by the Convertible, whose sales rose by 116.7 percent, and the Clubman, with 4,681 deliveries.

In Europe, combined sales of BMW and MINI vehicles totaled 91,347, up 11.9 percent, with Germany remaining the largest market, accounting for 21,829 delivered, up 14.3 percent. In Asia, sales rose by 6.3 percent to 58,725 units and the biggest market in the region is still Mainland China, with 40,123 vehicles sold, up 7.1 percent.

In the Americas, BMW and MINI shipped 42,066 last month, down 7.3 percent, while the year-to-date numbers indicate a 7.9 percent drop, with 180,099 deliveries.

BMW Motorrad found new homes for 15,180 motorcycles and maxi-scooters, noting a 1.2 percent increase.
