If the recently unveiled Mercedes-AMG GT R is all about fast lap times and aggressive styling, a hypothetical Roadster version would enable the driver and co-driver to enjoy its magnificent sound even mote.

Visually, this is a case of simply ditching the roof, though if you look closely you’ll notice that X-Tomi has slightly altered the car’s original “Green Hell Magno” paint job.

The general consensus is that this Nurburgring beast sounds properly diabolical thanks to its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine and active titanium exhaust system. When the flaps open, the car will constantly bark orders at you and everybody around it, which is what AMG actually calls “emotive sound composition”. Aside from the central tailpipe, the GT R also has two extra tailpipes “hidden” on either side of the rear diffuser.

Will a convertible GT R ever come out of Affalterbach? After hearing the Coupe roar at Goodwood, we certainly hope so.
