Renntech’s aftermarket package for the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe should appeal to those who, for one reason or another, didn’t want to go with the range-topping V12 S65 model of the series.

Starting with the standard 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, which is anything but under-powered with 585 PS (577 HP) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of peak torque, Renntech’s engineers boosted the lump by upgrading the ECU and exhaust system.

The result is quite impressive, as the S63 AMG Coupe is now even more powerful than the S65 AMG Coupe’s 630 PS (621 HP) and 1,001 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque, breaking the 700 PS barrier with 708 PS (698 HP) and 1,138 Nm (839 lb-ft) of torque, at the crank.

Performance numbers are kept in the shadows for the moment, but while the stock S63 Coupe needs 3.9 seconds to go from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph), when equipped with the optional 4Matic AWD system, Renntech’s machine should cover it even faster.

Completing the German tuner’s list of features for the two-door version of the S-Class is a matte grey finish and a decklid spoiler, billed by Renntech as a prototype. There isn’t any pricing info available yet, so this won’t be the last time we hear about it.
