The coupe version of the GLC finally hits the European market, declaring war to its arch-rival from Munich, the BMW X4.

At first, Merc’s new crossover will come in 211PS (208hp) GLC 250 petrol guise and the 170PS (168hp) GLC 220d and 204PS (201hp) GLC 250d diesels.

Standard kit includes 18in alloy wheels, an exterior Chrome pack, the Easy-Pack tailgate, reversing camera, Collission Prevention Assist Plus, sports suspension and Artico leather upholstery among others.

All fitted with the nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox. Mercedes is also offering a wide selection of optional packages, including the AMG Line, the Night pack and the Exclusive and Designo interior options. Customers can also order the optional air-suspension instead of the standard steel-spring one.

Prices in Germany start from €49,444 for the petrol GLC 250 with the GLC 220d and GLC 250d asking from €49,980 and €51,289 respectively. As for the rest of the range, pricing will be announced at the end of 2016.

Mercedes will also give the option of an Edition 1 launch version which comes with features like 20in AMG wheels, Night pack, AMG Line exterior treatment and bi-color leather upholstery for an extra €8,270.
