The French company dropped a teaser image of the sportier Twingo that’s apparently close to its official reveal.

People have been waiting for this moment since the original debut of the rear-engined, rear-wheel driven Twingo.

If you expect a fully-fledged RS model you are probably in for a disappointment as reports suggest that the range-topping version of the Twingo will use the GT nameplate instead, despite the RenaultSport badging shown in the teaser image.

Renault’s go-faster department was involved in the setup of the car, hence the badges but that’s about it. Power is expected to come from an upgraded version of the company’s turbocharged 0.9-litre TCE engine with around 110hp.

That may not sound a lot, but if paired with a properly sorted chassis, the hotter Twingo may be the fun city car you were looking for.
