An R8 GT owner could have made a wise choice when he went down to Kline Innovation and asked for an aftermarket exhaust system.

Designed and built using racing technology from Inconel 625, a nickel-based super alloy that possesses high strength properties and resistance to extreme temperatures, the new super lightweight exhaust has completely changed the way this first-gen R8 sounds like and, perhaps, none can describe it better than the Romanian tuner in charge of coming up with it.

The Audi R8 5.2L FSI, with its V10 engine, aluminum chassis and striking, yet refined styling, is a formidable supercar, yet still refined enough to be used as a daily driver. With this in mind, the sound and performance criteria for the exhaust was clear, to sculpt an exhaust that would be comfortable at cruising speeds, yet raw and powerful in sound and nature in high revs.

Kline Innovation allows the valves, which are actuated by the car’s factory vacuum system, to be controlled via a wireless remote Inconel Button kit, which operates in two modes and sends signals to the radio receiver fitted in the engine bay.

Unlike some tuners, which prefer to present their latest products in various images, sprinkled with many adjectives, the Romanian-based company put its money where its mouth is and released a video with the supercar’s baritone-ish tone, accompanied by an epic narration.
