BMW will once again unveil a new concept car at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, but we wouldn’t expect a new M1, as some people report.

Given that the Bavarian company is celebrating its 100th anniversary, a particularly special concept is expected, potentially even more symbolic than the 3.0 CSL Hommage shown at Villa d’Este 2015.

In a press release, the company said: “In celebration of its 100th anniversary, BMW of North America will unveil a world premier concept car and a very special, freshly restored classic BMW during its annual press conference which this year will take place at the BMW Living Legends Garage at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.”

While it’s impossible to say just what it will be, BMW Blog says that the car will be an “exciting sporty concept”. During its 100th anniversary celebrations, the marque has focused much of its attention on its illustrious racing history, so a car inspired by its on-track success isn’t out of the question.

Most recently, we saw the stunning 2002 Hommage built for Villa d’Este so whatever the company creates, it has set itself very high standards.
