It’s interesting to know that Porsche and Mercedes-Benz have quite a very good relationship even though some of their models are direct rivals on the market.
Most notably, Mercedes-Benz launched the 500E in the early 1990s, which was actually built and largely developed by Porsche. Skip forward to 2016 and the two Stuttgart-based companies have announced another, albeit less exciting, collaboration.
The two have struck a deal where visitors to the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart will receive a 25 per cent discount to the city’s Porsche museum and vice versa, in an obvious attempt to help increase visitors to both museums.
This discount means that the adult ticket price at the two museums drops from 8 euros to six while concession card holders will now be able to visit both museums for just 6 euros.
Further to this, a 1996 Mercedes-Benz W111 230 S will be displayed at the Porsche museum from next month while Porsche will lend its friendly rival a 1975 911 Carrera 2.7.
