With a 1.4-litre engine that delivers 168 hp and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, the Abarth 124 Spider isn’t the most outrageous sports car on the market. Even so, it’s a rear-wheel drive roadster that can serve up heaps of fun. Provided you can summon them, of course.

Fiat wants to make sure you get the most out of its nippy sports car and is thus offering a tutorial on how a track experience in association with the Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving.

All buyers of an Abarth models (the 124 Spider or the 500, that is) will receive a one-day session of high-performance driving with a professional instructor.

The program features an introduction to the brand and lots of track time, including instructor-led skid and slalom courses, autocross and team rally cross activities and hot laps. The – optional – second day includes a Road Rally event that begins at the Bondurant facility and takes on a 220-mile (355 km) drive through Arizona’s scenic highways.

Starting from $28,195 the 124 Spider comes with a mechanical limited slip differential, a sport suspension with monotube Bilstein front and rear shock absorbers and a Brembo braking system featuring monoblock aluminum calipers with four pistons at the front.
