Built as a tribute to the original BMW 2002 turbo from the early 70s, the 2002 Hommage was first displayed earlier this year at Villa d’Este.

Now for Pebble Beach, the Bavarian automaker has updated the concept’s styling even more by making it black and orange and adding a racing livery with the iconic Turbomeister decals.

The same chunky 20″ multi-spoke wheels introduced at Villa d’Este were present here as well, except that instead of gray and black spokes, BMW went with silver and gold – where even the brake calipers are painted gold.

Other than that, the Pebble Beach car is the same as the blue one BMW introduced back in May, featuring the same carbon fiber elements and most likely the same 370 PS 3.0-liter twin turbocharged engine sourced from the new M2 Coupe – originally rumored to power the 2002 Hommage.

Now, thanks to Carspotter Jeroen, we can both see and hear the concept while pulling up in front of several photographers. The clip below even includes hearing the engine start plus a bit of revving from time to time – before the car eventually makes its way onto a trailer.
