CarMax regularly buys and sells cars by the truckload. Most of them are inevitably mass-market econo-boxes from the likes of Honda, Toyota, Chevy and Ford. But the used-car mega-dealer advertises that they’ll buy anything. So what would happen if you tried to sell them an Aston Martin?

That’s what Doug DeMuro set out to find out. DeMuro has a garage full of sweet rides, including a Nissan Skyline GT-R, a Hummer H1, and a Ferrari 360 Modena. He’s taken them all in to CarMax just to see what they would offer, and now it was time to do the same with his Aston.

Doug’s is a V8 Vantage – a model which new would cost a good hundred grand. He bought his 2007 model used, however, and paid $45k for it just seven months ago (plus another few grand for a warranty).

He’s since put on an unfathomable 10,500 miles on it. So how much would CarMax offer him for it? Watch the video to find out, and read his full column on Autotrader to see how it all breaks down.
