Ken Okuyama’s bold Kode57 supercar may have only just debuted in Monterey but it’s already been confirmed that retired boxer Floyd Mayweather has placed an order for the car.

While speaking with TMZ Sports, the man who sells Mayweather all of his cars, Obi Okeke, claims he has been working on securing an order for the car for some six years and that Mayweather has been the first to splash down the reported $2.5 million price tag.

“This is a car Floyd has been highly interested in and psyched about getting. I have been working on this project for 6 years and Floyd has been my main target in getting this car … so he is pretty excited in finally seeing it and getting it,” Okeke said.

Looking suspiciously like the Ferrari Rossa, the Kode57 has been inspired by racing cars from the 1950’s and 60’s, particularly the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and Jaguar XKSS.

Powertrain wise the car uses a naturally-aspirated V12 engine delivering around 600 hp but at this stage, it isn’t known where this engine is sourced from. As development of the car continues, this along with other key mechanical details should be made available.
