Walking out of a dealership with a convertible supermini isn’t that easy these days.

In fact, aside from the quasi DS 3 Cabrio, which isn’t really a convertible anyway, there’s not much this segment has to offer in terms of having the wind in your hair and getting to see the open sky at the touch of a button.

The reason is that the number of prospective buyers simply does not justify such a project, which would demand a serious investment.

Would Kia then “make a move” with their all-new Rio and actually build a convertible version?

The right answer would have to be ‘no’, though if you’re curious what one might look like, here’s X-Tomi’s take on the all-new Rio that broke cover earlier this month, ahead of its Paris Auto Show debut.
