Nissan released the first teaser images of their new Micra, which is scheduled to debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

One of the biggest highlights of Nissan’s new city car is the adoption of a much sharper styling, a direction that was previewed by the 2015 Sway concept.

Gone are the cute designs of the past, with Nissan aiming to inject some much needed emotion to its smaller cars and the new Nissan Micra aims to do exactly that. Our previous scoops on the Japanese supermini reveal a lower, more aggressive body featuring things like a rear spoiler and hidden rear door handles.

The new model is also expected to ride on a new platform called CMF-B which is also going to be the base for the next Nissan Juke. Under the bonnet, Nissan is expected to use a range of fuel-efficient three- and four-cylinder units.

All in all, the new Nissan Micra looks already like a big step up from the previous generations and this might be actually the first time when a Micra should worry rivals like the VW Polo, the Ford Fiesta, the Peugeot 208 and the brand new Citroen C3.
