Ford has turned to man’s best friend to promote some of the features of their new Ka+ city car.

From cute Golden Retrievers embarking on a family road trip in the UK to sassy Lhasa Apsos from Italy and chic Poodles on a date in France, the Blue Oval’s commercials should put a smile on your face. The Ka+, not so much.

Unveiled earlier this year and featuring an extra set of doors compared to its more posh predecessor that shared its underpinnings with the Fiat 500, the Ka+, slots below the Fiesta as a value proposal in the segment, being the European specification version of Ford’s volume seller in India and South America.

In Europe, power comes courtesy of a 1.25-liter petrol engine shared with the Fiesta, in two outputs, with 70 PS (69 HP) and 85 PS (84 HP), channeled to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. For the lesser model, the Blue Oval is asking £8,995 in the United Kingdom, which comes to around $11,000 at today’s exchange rates.
