Are you too impatient to wait for the next-generation Tesla Roadster and have a spare million dollars lying around? Probably not, but just in case you are so inclined, we have the perfect car for you thanks to a listing on eBay Motors.

The seller claims that the Tesla Roadster pictured is one of just 33 validation prototypes produced for the electric sports car and is chassis number 32. It has 18,000 miles on the clock and you can bet that the car was pushed to its limits for many of those miles.

In its previous life, the car was used as a marketing vehicle and registered in California and comes with all the appropriate service records as well as both a hardtop and softtop, portable charger and 240v wall charger.

For as unique as the sports car is, it’s simply not worth $1 million but according to the seller, it could prove an important collector’s item in the future.

The listing reads: “A million dollar Tesla may be crazy today but with vintage Ferrari’s going for $15M+, imagine what the first Ferrari prototype models would go for.  Take that 30 years into the future when most cars are electric and they’ll be able to trace their history back to Tesla, the company that is changing the industry, and this being a prototype of its first model. Historic and super sporty,” it says.

While much of that is true, we’re still sceptical that such a vehicle will ever be viewed in a similar light to iconic Ferraris of the mid-1960s.
