Some say he worked at Top Gear before, and that he published a book. All we know is that he is not the Stig, because Clarkson & Co. can’t use that name anymore.

More than a year ago, right after the “fracas” fiasco, Clarkson, Hammond, and May posted a teaser showing them “power testing” a Mercedes-AMG GT, a Z06 Corvette Stingray, and a Porsche 911 Turbo.

The video was published by their Live Australia YouTube channel, one month before the trio announced their partnership with Amazon, and it seems that the segment also includes the introduction of the crew’s tamed racing driver.

This latest video comes from Richard Hammond’s Youtube channel and shows the three, middle-aged men looking for a racing driver to hot lap the aforementioned cars. As it turns out, the only one they could find was living rough but had an impressive resume.

After debating whether or not they should call him The Stog, the ex-Top Gear presenters decided to name him The Ben Collins.

Top Gear fans might remember Collins as the second Stig, who reportedly was sacked from the show after publishing his book entitled The Man in The Whit Suit in 2010.

It’s unknown whether or not The Ben Collins will be a regular with the boys, considering that the Grand Tour won’t have a dedicated circuit and a lap-time board, but it’s refreshing to see Clarkson, Hammond, and May’s spirited humor.
