With 230 PS and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque out of the box, the Skoda Octavia RS230 isn’t exactly what you’d call a slow car.

It would hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds and max out at 250 km/h (155 mph) even before Jochen Eckelt and his team got their hands on it.

JE Design’s personalization program for the Octavia RS230 ups the ante to 300 PS and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, helping it hit the 100 km/h mark in 6.6 seconds, with the top speed raised to 258 km/h (160 mph).

One of the tuner’s key features on the RS230 is the stainless steel sound flap sports exhaust, which offers a sportier soundtrack at the touch of a button and is electronically linked to the car’s three driving profiles.

Where in Eco and Normal modes the flap stays shut, in Sport mode, this 2,499 euro option is said to produce a “full and sonorous soundtrack designed to put a big grin on the driver’s face.”

Visually, the JE Design team gave the RS230 headlamp eyebrows and a deeper front spoiler, to go with the door trim strips, two big exhaust outlets and the roof spoiler which makes it look sportier and helps clean up departing airflow. The body kit is priced at 446 euros and is normally shipped in a Black Metallic finish – though at an extra cost, components can be color-coded to the car’s paintwork.

The 311 euro (a piece) 20″ Twin Five Spoke alloys feature a black gloss polished velvet finish and are wrapped in 235/30ZR20 Continental SportContact rubber.

As for the chassis upgrades, they start at 190 euros with a set of 35mm lower sport springs. More serious drivers can also go for KW coilover spring and damper kits with adjustable ride height and independently variable bounce and rebound control. These suspension kits are priced from 1,079 euros.
