Sometimes more is actually less, which is why the additional features that set this Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake apart don’t necessarily mean that they are the best choice.

Inspired by the all-new E-Class All Terrain, with its additional plastic body cladding all around and the generous ride height, the sleek-looking estate has been transformed into something, well, not so elegant by TheophilusChin.

Can you imagine the horror and shock on the face of loyal Mercedes-Benz fans if this CLS All Terrain becomes a reality?”, is the question asked by the rendering artist.

The second generation CLS, on the other hand, which has been around since 2011 in the four-door coupe form and 2012 as a Shooting Brake, is expected to receive a successor in the near future, which will follow the same recipe as its predecessor and share most of the underpinnings with the latest iteration E-Class.

The vehicle is believed to drop the Shooting Brake completely from the range and to adopt a fresher exterior design, new technology and some (if not all) of the petrol, diesel and ‘green’ mills found on the E-Class, including the range-topping 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in the AMG CLS 63 and 63 S.
