Common logic dictates that front-wheel drive cars don’t drift and, for the most part, they don’t. RenaultSport, though, consistently produces some of the most thrilling hot hatches on the market and, as it turns out, their engineering wizardry makes the Megane RS a more than adequate drifter.

Filmed hitting the pavement at the Nurburgring, this Megane RS, which appears to be rented from RSR Nurburg, can be seen perfectly powersliding around a left hand bend and then a right-hander, leaving a nice set of tires marks on the track.

Kicking the tail out on cars like this, particularly those with stiffened rear ends, can be quite easy. What’s really difficult is maintaining and controlling the slide and then linking that slide up between corners. As if by magic and with a touch of the brakes, this driver does it with ease.
