This year marked the 50th anniversary of Ford’s famous Le Mans 24 Hours in victory where it swept the podium in 1966. To continue its celebrations and not content with the new GT GTE winning in its class at the French endurance race, Ford has teamed up with Lego to immortalize the 2016 GT and 1966 GT40.

The two models are the latest addition to the Lego Speed Champions range and are highly detailed in their recreation of the successful duo.

The 2016 GT for example, is adorned in the same red, white and blue paint scheme that the life-size car has. Additionally, the Lego model includes a black front splitter as well as the large rear wing of the racer.

As for the 1966 one, it too stays true to the original with the same black and white paint finish, the gold wheels and even includes a number of circular air intakes.

As some of you may recall, the race-winning 1966 Ford GT40 is owned by RK Motors Charlotte and recently underwent a full restoration and has since been displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, SEMA and the recently-concluded LA Auto Show.
