While many car enthusiasts would gladly go to the Moon and back just to squeeze out a few extra horses from their engines, Boba Motoring are playing in a league of their own with an insane Volkswagen Golf Mk2.

A wolf in sheep’s clothing is the best description for this tuned compact, which follows hot on the heels of Boba’s previous massively powered Golf 2 with 900 HP from a 1.8-liter turbo unit paired to an all-wheel drive system.

The tuner’s latest creation is even more powerful – heck, it could eat a Bugatti Veyron for breakfast since its engine has just reached an entirely new level of craziness – 1,233 HP and 1,094 Nm (807 lb-ft) of torque from a 2.0-liter, 16-valve turbocharged unit.

Its performance is as mind-blowing as you’d expect, needing just 2.53 seconds to go from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph), 3.16 seconds from 100 km/h to 200 km/h (62-124 mph), while covering a quarter mile in just 8.69 seconds, at 273 km/h (170 mph).

This Golf, which tips the scales at 1,180 kg (2,061 lbs), will eventually reach a top speed of more than 350 km/h (217 mph), but you don’t have to take our word for granted, as proof is a mouse click away.
