ICON's Derelict Oldsmobile Perfectly Combines Old And New

The latest addition to ICON's 'Derelict' series has been rolled out at SEMA, showing to all attendees the unique world of restomodding.

This particular project is based around a 1946 Oldsmobile that has retained its patina-infused exterior – which is a nice way to say that it looks like a piece of rusted garbage.

Under the skin however, it is much more modern. For starters, a 502 cubic-inch V8 engine has been installed, delivering 528 hp and 607 lb-ft of torque.

Bringing up to date are a fully-independent suspension up front and a four-link setup at the rear with adjustable coilovers all around, Wilwood disc brakes, a rack and pinion steering and a lightweight stainless steel exhaust system.

The cabin has also benefited from some changes like new Italian leather, Gabardine wool, hand-painted wood and modernized gauges.
