Marc Marquez didn’t just claim another MotoGP title this year but for the fourth year running, he also took out the BMW M Award, walking away with a brand new BMW M2 as the season’s best qualifier.

The young Spanish rider first claimed the award in 2013 and received a matte black M6 Coupe. The following year, he was given the keys to a matte red M4 and last year, added a matte blue M6 Convertible to his collection. Now with the addition of the M2, he has a BMW collection to make any M enthusiast envious.

Ever since its world premiere in Detroit back in January, the M2 has received praise from all over the world, with Jeremy Clarkson even calling it his favorite M car. This MotoGP season, it has also served as the official safety car.

Propelling the M2 is a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine delivering 365 hp and in this case, it is mated to a dual-clutch transmission, resulting in a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of just 4.3 seconds.

Commenting on his win, Marquez said “I am very proud to have won the BMW M Award again this year. This award is very coveted among us MotoGP riders, and this success is particularly important for me.

“I think I have to really think about expanding my garage at home. I am already really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the BMW M2 Coupé. However, I have to say that we already have a little ‘fight’ for the car in our family, as my mother and my brother Alex are also keen to drive the BMW M2 Coupé.”
