While the McLaren 675LT is technically a hardcore variant of the 650S, the changes to it are so comprehensive that it could be considered an entirely bespoke model.

Among the LT’s most incredible attributes are the way it is able to accelerate at near-hypercar pace, showing more powerful supercars like the Aventador SV what true speed looks like. Don’t believe us? This clip shows just how potent it is.

While running a quarter mile recently, this bright red LT completed the 1,320 foot sprint in a remarkable 10.2 seconds at 137 mph (220 km/h).

To put that time into perspective, it is about on par with a Bugatti Veyron and just a few tenths shy of what the McLaren P1 has been able to achieve. What’s more, the uploader says that if the car got a slightly better launch and enjoyed the right weather, it may have dipped into the 9-second bracket.
