As of right now, the closest BMW can get to directly rivaling the AMG-powered S-Class or the Audi S8 is by letting Alpina go to town on their all-new 7-Series.

Enter the 2017 Alpina B7 xDrive, a car that’s powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8, putting down 608 PS (600 HP) between 5,750 and 6,250 rpm, as well as 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque from 3,000 rpm.

Those types of figures allow it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds before maxing out at around 311 km/h (193 mph). In other words, about as fast, if not slightly faster than the Audi S8 plus in terms of acceleration.

The one on display here at BMW’s Abu Dhabi dealership is wearing Java Green Metallic on the outside and a special wooden trim on the inside (dash, doors, center console), making this cabin slightly more stylish (and less sporty) than the one in the official Alpina B7 press images.

This color by the way has made its way into the Abu Dhabi showroom on several occasions, as this Java Green M4 instantly comes to mind thanks to its flashy looks and M-Performance bits.

Now, since this is a luxury car, let us know if you think such a bright color is too much for a 7-Series.
