BMW has released new Black Fire special editions of their X5 M and X6 M high-performance crossovers.

Set to go on sale in Germany this August, the special editions have a monotone appearance thanks to Sapphire Black Metallic exterior, a blacked out grille, and 21-inch forged alloy wheels with a black finish. Other highlights include carbon mirror caps and BMW M compound brakes with blue calipers.

The unique styling continues as the cabin as designers installed black Merino leather upholstery with contrasting Mugello Red leather accents. The crossovers also have piano black trim, Black Fire badging, and an anthracite headliner from BMW Individual.

Drivers will also find red contrast stitching and a leather-wrapped M steering wheel. The latter item can be replaced by a BMW M Performance Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with light-blue leather accents for no additional charge.

Both models are powered by a familiar a 4.4-liter M TwinPower V8 engine which produces 575 PS (423 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased four-wheel drive system. This setup enables the crossovers to rocket from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.2 seconds.
