When Chevrolet launched the C7 Corvette, it unveiled a rear-end that was unlike any other generation before it. Gone were the four circular taillights and in their place were angular and aggressive units that helped modernize the vehicle’s design.

Evidently, the owner of a C5 Corvette was so impressed with the overhauled design that they decided to have their car adorned with the rear fascia of a current model in a mishmash that’s, well, polarizing.

Snapped by a Redditor on the move, the car has a fairly legitimate looking C7 rear fascia which from a distance, actually makes the car look like a genuine 2017 model with custom orange paint. Get closer, though, and it falls apart at the seams as, apart from the new rear end, there are also widened arches, with the front ones looking disappointingly empty with those puny wheels.

The front remains identifiable as a C5 but does have aftermarket headlights and a bespoke hood with a huge bulge.
