The Honda Civic Type R carries a base price of $33,900 but the first model to be offered in the United States just sold for $200,000.

Listed on Bring a Trailer, the car was sold to a mysterious bidder who goes by the name “happycappyauto.” There’s no word on who that is but the user submitted the bid shortly after the auction begin and blew away the previous offer of $144,000.

Despite bringing in supercar money, the first Civic Type R is virtually indistinguishable from any other model. It sports an Aegean Blue Metallic exterior as well as plaque that states the car is model number 00001.

Like the standard model, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 306 hp (228 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a short-throw six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front-wheels via a helical limited slip differential.

While the car has front-wheel drive, early reviews suggest Honda has successful eliminated any hint of torque steer. This is an impressive accomplishment especially when you consider the car was fast enough to claim a Nürburgring lap record.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation which serves more than 28,000 children in the United States who are living with a brain tumor.
