Approximately 14,000 BMW 5-Series models are being recalled in the United States due to issues with their rear reflectors.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the rear reflex reflectors may not reflect enough light, therefore making the affected vehicles less visible to others on the road.

The minor issue is said to effect BMW 528i, 538i xDrive, 535i xDrive, 550i, 550i xDrive and M5 models from the 2013 and 2014 model years. Additionally, the 2013 ActiveHybrid 5 and 2014 525d xDrive are embroiled in the recall.

The German company says it will begin notify owners on July 24 and fit new reflectors free of charge.
